I know the + rating on the PSI lp72 has been discussed before and there is a document that provides the REE numbers. I have a copy but there is an unfortunate typo that calls it a 250 instead of a 2250. I have a tank at the hydro facility now and they said they will do the + if I have the documentation. Does anyone have a corrected copy that I can get to get this fixed.

Thank you
Chris

you vclearly need a better hydro shop if they don't have it.... You also need to provide which manufacturer it was and some other rather important information.

If it's a PST, good luck, but the hydro shops should have it and the REE number should be on the tank. I'd check if I were at my tanks right now, but the point still stands that the hydro shop should have all of the paperwork if they are actually worth going to...

Tbone REE numbers are not always on the cylinder. Especially, the old LP72s. None of mine from Norris or PST have it. Most newer LP cylinders do have it. And given the REE document from PST came out in 1985 not all hydro facilities will have it - I had to supply it to my local shop.

For the OP - the version of document I have also has the typo. I do not think it was ever corrected. I would explain that to the hydro facility and then ask that they utilize the other specs on it such as the size and water capacity. If they still will not do it I would suggest trying to kick it up the food chain or thank them and take the cylinder else where.

ahh, interesting. All of my LP72's have been passed thru with + rating and I've never had to provide documentation. It has always been "yeah no problem, have it right here", I do know that some of my 72's from PST do have the REE number though. My two Norris tanks don't though.

Thanks everyone. In the OP PSI was meant to be PST.

I have looked through the archives and found lots of info, but the same doc keeps coming up. I pulled it off the website Manufacturers' Documents.
The shop made a valid argument, and dealing with Gov I cant truly fault him even if I completely disagree. He stated that the doc said 250 and he cant make any assumptions. I was hoping someone had a copy that had been corrected or an addendum that fixed the typo. I know back then it was a lot harder to fix an issue with a typewriter then it is today with a computer. I wish there was some single repository for all this info. I will try to contact PST directly and see if maybe there is some planetary alignment where they might have a good document.

Thank you

The other option would be to have the shop call DOT and get a ruling. It would require sending the PST doc to them and getting a letter back.
