Well I finally got my cert this weekend WOOHOO! :D (Thanks to Bob and Mike from Odyssey Scuba, great teachers and I'm looking forward to the advanced class.)

Anyway I have a place down in Mashpee and I would like to know if there are any good locals that me and my bud can check out.

Thanks

ah and how is my buddy bob doing
as fas as dive spots out there
sorry i dont know

are you looking for shore dives? not a whole lot to offer on the cape since it's pretty much one big sandbar.

Garbage beach at Woods hole is best place for newbie. I just dove it for first time last weekend and saw a lot of neat stuff. (Flounder, Lion Jellies, Horse Shoe Crab, Bay scallops, smaller bugs..) Just stay close to shore and don't venture too far into channel as currents can be tricky. Get there early to get a parking spot on weekends.
It gets deeper to the left of MLB pier. I would recommend stay to right of pier and wouldn't go beyond 30-40 feet.

Garbage beach is great. It gets down over 60 ft. very quickly. It's about a mile and a half from my house. Last weekend reefseal met me there for a couple dives, including a night dive. If anybody ever wants a buddy to dive there with, let me know.

A lot of people really like Sandwich town beach. The water there is cold, and it doesn't get very deep.

You might want to try John's pond in mashpee. There are several small boats, motors, etc. It is even rumored that there in an old millatary plane on the bottom. I know of no one that has seen the plane, so it is probably just a story.

Where exactly is "Garbage Beach"? Sounds like a place I want to check out.

It's in Woods Hole, which is part of Falmouth. If you ever want to meet up for a dive there let me know. I go there often because it is so close to my house.

Sounds good mfalco.(If you don't mind diving with a noobie :-) I have a place in Mashpee, I should have brought my stuff down this weekend!

Any time you want PM me and I'll give you contact info. I've been trying to dive there once a week.
