Darn....I had all the answers that I was about to share :doh:.

I actually had back problems whenever I dove until I got my trim and weighting sorted out. I found I was constantly twisting my body slightly to keep it in the position I wanted (horizontal) which led to a very sore lower back and many back spasms. Once I moved the weight around to where it should be and got the right amount, the back pain disappeared.

Hopefully the OP's problem got resolved and they were able to keep diving.
