Well,

It looks like Sunday is going to be a tough bet to enter the water with so much activity pending. I just found out that our college is closed this Monday the 12th because of Labor Day, so that makes a perfect chance to dive.

Only problem is who can I find as a dive buddy for Monday? Any college instructors or Bank personel want to dive with me?

I guess the question is who has Monday the 12th off due to Labor day?

Thanks,

MG

Veterans Day, not Labor Day.

Here's the official word from the City of Monterey:

City of Monterey | News Room | News Release

ScubaBoard is insisting on grabbing the (rather uninformative) title from the page when I paste in the URL. The link does work.

Wow,

Chuck thanks for all that info, I took a look at it and I almost started to cry. Sunday looks like a disaster for parking.

I would have to arrive at Break Water and park Saturday night before 2am Sunday. Then fall asleep in the car and dive in the Morning would that work? Only problem is would I be stuck in that parking lot till when?

Anyway how about Monday....... !!!!!!

Or hop on a boat on Sunday. With the race, the boats are leaving late eg 8am. We are on the Cypress Sea. Call Dolpin Scuba to see if they have a spot available. It will be nice to have the extra hour in bed. Lovers this past Sunday was awful - surge and 5 to 7 ft vis.

Hi Michelle,

Darn you cannot make it either. :( You have class?

About the videos I haven't been able to compress them down to Youtube limits. My encounter with the Seal is combined with me playing with a Jelly fish so it's kinda long.

Now before you hit me over the head for touching a jelly fish, let me explain. I gently reached over to it's bell and very gingerly knudged it to a free floating position.

My dive buddy went nuts as you can literally hear him in the water saying, "STOP WHAT ARE YOU DOING"!!! He thought they sting on the bell.

I guess it's working out that I'm not able to make it Sunday, with the race and all. :shakehead:

I know what you mean about the video files being large on that camera. I've heard that Windows Movie Maker is really easy to use and you can download it free. Maybe you can compress it or break it up into a couple different videos.

No worries, I wouldn't hit you over the head unless you were intentionally hurting the jelly fish. :no But for your safety sake, it would depend on what type of jelly you were playing with too.

Good luck with diving this weekend!

Michelle,

Thanks for the info on Movie Maker from windows when I get a chance I'll dowload it. Yeah Sunday looks like no one diving is going to get through, I will call Glenn at Aquarius II and find out if he knows of any loop holes to get his divers through.

I'd like to dive Monday since it's Veterans day (thanks Chuck), but it appears that everyone will be working that day except myself. :(

I would never harm sea life, I own a 90 gallon salt water reef tank in my living room and I get depressed when something as small as a blue leg hermit crab dies. I also teach environmental science. :)

I guess I really wanted to be in the movie with the Jelly fish and let my hollywood moment push me to act out before realizing they are extremely dangerous if not handled correctly. I don't have that type of training to touch Jellys so they are off limits, besides I got the movie shot already so I'm retiring from acting with Jelly fish. I will leave that to the sea lions and enjoy the show.

Michelle if you find out any last minute positive feedback on diving this long weekend please post on my thread so others can fall suit....

thanks,

MG
