Like that heading?!? :)

I am curious - I know that Chuck has mentioned that, during the summer months, diving after 11:30 AM is restricted at Lover's Point. Curious if this precludes night diving at Lovers? If not - anyone have any experience with it? I was actually able to get a room around there for this Sat night and would love to do a night dive down there if possible.

Thanks!

Nice hook ;) ;)

Glad you liked it.

Has anyone ever dove there at night? Is it any good?

I have no idea where lovers point is. . . I just liked the thread title :D

Here is what a website said:
Lover's Point is the perfect park for divers and non-divers. The small cove above is great for kids, and the cove just beyond in the background is better suited to divers. There are restrictions to diving: you can only dive April to September, weekday mornings before 11:30. Check with a local dive shop for the current restrictions-- they may change from time to time.

I've dived in the cove at night, but it wasn't during the "restricted" dates. There are octopi out and about, along with other nocturnal things like crabs. Lover's 3 might be more interesting, being how it's more exposed.

Monastery has more stuff to see at night than Lover's, IMHO.

As much as people hate Breakwater, it isn't a bad night dive, if you get away from the wall a little bit, just to mix it up.

I've done several night dives at Lover's, and I've never been approached by anyone regarding the time of the dive. It's been my experience that there have been so few people in the parking lot, that it seems to be a moot issue. While I may have not followed the letter of the ordinance, I'm certain that I follow the spirit of the city ordinance.

Although I like Monastery at night, I think Lover's is a great place for a night dive, too.
