Seajay....where is that wrecked plane on your website homepage? It looks really awesome but definitely
not a newbie type dive!!!

That photo was taken by Peter Lange, who frankly is quickly becoming one of my favorite underwater photographers. I think I might contact him and purchase some of his work... Assuming he sells it. :)

I don't know Peter personally, and he's not a member of the Lowcountry Scuba Club. The photo was used with permission from the First Degree Underwater Photo Contest which can be found at http://www.wrecksonline.com . Peter's photo section is at http://www.wrecksonline.com/2002_20...o_gallery_2.asp?IDPartecipante=277&idlingua=e , and frankly, that photo of the plane isn't his best work... There's even better Peter Lange work there at Wrecks Online.

Specifically, information on that particular picture is at http://www.wrecksonline.com/2002_2003/photo_gallery/photo_gallery_3.asp?IDImmagine=1677&idlingua=e . If I read that right, the plane is in the Solomon Islands, and is in about 6 meters, or a little less than 20 feet of water. If that's the case, then the surface is likely just out of the frame of the picture. Ambient light in the picture supports this, although Peter's given an awesome depth-of-field in his photograph, giving the viewer a feeling of tremendous depth in the water column.

...So no, I don't think that this particular dive would be "not for newbies." In fact, it might be ideal for newbies. :)

SeaJay, after scouring the web for a couple of weeks looking for torque specs for my Apeks regs I finally came across your link late last night. Being too lazy to download the docs then, I postponed it until today. But I haven't been able to access the information today. I'm hoping the server is down temporarily, that looked like a cool site, and I'll be kicking myself for sometime to come, if my laziness costs me the information I had been so thrilled to find yesterday ;-0

Yeah, I had to take my server down for maintenance.

Unfortunately, it was a pretty huge issue, and my server won't be back up until tomorrow (10-7-03) morning.

No fear... Everything will be back in a jiffy. :)

Seajay-what a cool website, the wrecksonline, some amazing
photos and some of the better ones are not in that
deep of water, thanks for telling me to look at that site

Yeah, that's one of my favorites... There's others, too... "The Deep Blue" comes to mind as well. Go to http://www.LCscuba.com and click on "Look." There's lots and lots of stuff to see there, much of which is actually just a link to someone else's cool website.

Oh, by the way... Server's back and running. Click away. :D
