Seemed to work ok, the "inflate" button sticks a tad, slow to release. You know about these though?? How do I take it apart? Seems like a little grease or maybe sanding?? would fix it. I know I can get a new one for $25, but if I can get it to last 2-3 dives before I have to replace it, I'd be grateful. I'm gonna have to pay to get a reg serviced, and a tank hydroed. I got the reg setup (US divers Conshelf XII first and second stage) for $20 (needs a new SPG, but I just bought one used for $50), and the tank for the same. As soon as I can afford it, I will replace the inflator.

Take it to your local dive shop, they can assist you with getting it working like new.

Luckily, there are three local shops...I'm planning on taking the reg and the tank to the one closest to my house. This shop tends to try to make you buy new equipment....I'd take it elsewhere, but this place is closer, as long as they'll hydro for the same price, I'll leave it there. Not to mention, the other shop I frequent (not that frequently... ) has an obcession with Scubapro. I asked about a pressure guage, they immediately recomend a $280 SPG. Both places tend to want you to buy the latest and greatest, one of them has a reputation for it I might ask about the BC, but it works alright for the moment, if they want too much to work on it I'll pass for the moment.

They should be able to fix it pretty cheap...don't pass on getting it fixed. A stuck inflator at depth can be dangerous! Good luck.

I say buy a new cheap inflator for around $35, they will probably charge you $15 or $20 to mess with the old one and it still will be prone to having the inflator button sticking. and that price for a pressure gage is crazy.

I won't be diving deep with this...the deepest I've been so far was around 40 feet, and that was on my cert. dive! I went diving in the gulf recently, but that was scalloping, deepest I was might have been 15 feet. Depressing. I won't dive with anything I feel is faulty. I'll get their opinion and see what I should do. thanks for the advice!

[edit] the price was for an entire console, pressure, depth and compass. still.... It would have lasted me for years, but I'd rather get a computer and a wrist mount compass for the same price.
