Submariner,

This is contrary to what my wife told me.
My wife said, she was warned against eating Yogurt to often, by our physician, as this could lead to yeast infections.

Is there a Doctor in the house who could clarify this?

Hi Liz:

In addition to the excellent advice already provided, here are some added risk factors for vaginal candida;
---Prior diagnosis of vaginal yeast infection
---HIV infection (or any other immunosupression)
---Oral contraceptives use
---Diabetes history
---Use of vaginal deodorants, bubble baths, douches
---Broad spectrum antibiotic therapy (as might be used for the 'Mummies Revenge')

Monistat or Gyne-Lotrimin are over the counter medications. I'd get some of this and use it prophylactically if you have had problems with candida in the past or have any of the increased risk factors.

Enjoy your trip - Red Sea Diving is (was) great!
