My mask arrived today and it's none the worse for its extended submersion in the surf zone of the Pacific Ocean.
There were a few small sand granules lodged between the bonded prescription lens layer and the skirt, but they came right out with a bit of gentle persuasion. My fears of scraping of the lenses by the sloshing back and forth over the sandy bottom were completely unfounded.
The mask is now soaking in warm water to rid it of any salt deposits and will be as good as new.
Public thanks to the folks at Ocean Adventures, in Venice, California for my mask's safe return.
