Any way to find out the names of dive instructors who worked at the Sports Chalet in Huntington Beach, California, from 1990 to 1992? My dive card was lost and I have no record of the number and PADI has not been able to find me in the system. I'm thinking that if I could find the instructors name, Padi could possibly search his records.
Thoughts and recommendations appreciated.

While I don't have the info on Huntington Beach instructors, you may want to have PADI search under variations of your name, maiden name, nickname if used at the time, etc. Their records are poorly cross referenced as I have found.

Thank you. PADI has tried multiple ways, multiple times and unfortunately they can't find me.

Have you checked other certification agencies? I have had several incidents where a person told me they had a PADI c card but they were actually certified by another agency. NAUI was much bigger at that time. And I believe PDIC has picked up records from YMCA and NADS. Others agencies to try are SSI, SDI and TDI. There is no universal system of records for scuba certification

Why would you assume it was a PADI certification?

Anyway it sounds like you haven't dived in quite a while so it might be best to go through the process again and while you're at it, get your AOW and Nitrox.

It will cost a few bucks but a fraction of what you'll be spending once you get back into the sport and you'll be safer and it will be more satisfying with the instruction and skills practice you're going to get.

And you won't even have to worry about passing the mask clearing drill!
