I will be in Raleigh April 28th and was thinking of making a trip on the 29th and maybe 30th to the shore to dive wrecks.
I have have not done wrecks, only warm water dives but up to 140ft. I do not have a buddy. I own my equipment (no tank). Any suggestions? Is it worth it?

Thanks,
JL

Hey HM,
If you've got the time, don't miss it. From Raleigh, almost a straight shot into Morehead City or Beaufort. Some of the best diving around (depending on the weather which should be good then). Try Olympus Diving in Morehead. Great operation.

Drop by the NC divers board. Don't know if any of them (us?) are diving off the coast that weekend but I suspect there will be someone at the quarry. Can't hurt to drop by the board and ask. www.ncdivers.com

We got a group dive off the coast the weekend of Easter. Too bad you couldn't join us then. You're welcome to check out the board. I'm sure someone will be diving that weekend. With our group someone is usually diving about every weekend.

Check the sticky at the top of this forum for dive shop/charter links.

Diving off NC coast is an experience. The water should be very clear. Beaufort is about a 3 hour drive from Raleigh. We dive with Discovery Diving. They have a website and you can call with any questions.

Thanks. I am now planning to go to Wilmington.

Well you're only two hours from Wilmington if you stay in Raleigh. If you're visiting Wilmington well then you have to go diving! :D Check out Aquatic Safaris and Cape Fear Divers (links in sticky above). As a matter of fact Cape Fear is the charter we're diving with Easter weekend.
