Mt. Storm--Underwater Pumpkin Carving Contest
Hosted by: Washington Scuba Center
Where: Mt. Storm Lake Who: Open to all certified divers
When: Sunday, October 23, 2011 Times: 12:30 – 4:00 pm
• Arrive around 10:00 (to allow time to adjust to the altitude & register)
• Pumpkin Carving 12:30-2:00 (judging @ 2:00, prizes @ 2:30)
• Potluck Snacks/ Meal 2:00 (bring something to share if you want to eat)
• Light-up Pumpkins w/ glowsticks & fun dive 3:00 to view
Entry Fee: $20.00 for Pumpkin Carving Contest
Proceeds will be used to support next year’s contest and build a Buoyancy Course @ Mt. Storm Dive site
Every prize will have a retail value of at least $20.00.
Everyone wins a prize.
Prizes provided by Washington Scuba Center, and our sponsors.
PUMPKIN CARVING RULES
You may use only dive tools to carve your pumpkin.
No pre-drawn designs, you may have the pumpkin hollowed out.
You need to do all carving underwater on the platform.
You must take your entire pumpkin underwater with you.
You must be finished carving return pumpkin to judging area by 2:00.
Divers under 15 must be assisted by a certified parent/buddy.
Note: We will have pumpkins available for purchase from a local farm stand if you need to buy one at the site.
Prizes will be given for: (note: each contestant can win only one prize, so the grand prize winner will also be the “Best” in one of three categories)
Grand Prize – Best Overall Pumpkin
Best Scary Pumpkin, & runners up
Best Dive Theme Pumpkin & runners up
Best Humorous Pumpkin & runners up
