I am looking for some lead for two scubapro weight integrated bcs, as well as trim weights. Probably about 60 lbs in total. Yeah i know that's too much, we are coming off the rental belts which are the same (and more than enough) for everyone. We'll figure out what the appropriate amount is later on our own time.

Let me know what you have available for sale, and how much you want for it. The LDS lead is $$... and shipping lead all over doesn't turn out too well either!

The price of lead itself is pretty high, but you can a mold from leisurepro and find an aluminum pan, a camping stove, and a very well ventilated area if you can source lead from auto/tire shops, etc.

Nope... that was for two people, and even then I recognize that it's high. It's just what I know works based on the one size is more than enough for all weight belts we've been renting.

I will look into the self molding, thanks for the idea.

Thanks for the offer Dale... that sounds like a lot of lead!

Do you coat the lead with anything when you do it yourself?

Not me.

I wanted to pour myself a keel weight so I went to the tire shop and asked for some lead. The guy said $5 and literally gave me a bucket of lead. Now I have a couple of keel weights and a half a bucket of lead.

60 pounds split between 2 is not much at all if your using drysuits.
I have had some success going to consignment stores for lead, there are a few in Vancouver. Last summer I saw a hole belt with coated bullets for $25 probably about 30# on it.

I think I have a couple of 10 lbs solid weights that fit great in my old integrated BCD. I'm not at home at the moment, so i'll have to get back to you to confirm. I'll also check to see if I have anything else I'm willing to part with.

If you're interested, Send me a PM with your email and I'll get back to you there.
