Hello everyone,
I just recently moved to San Diego and am trying to find some good snorkeling and dive spots. I've been spending a lot of time at La Jolla but am trying to find some new spots. Many people have told me to check out Laguna Beach, but I was wondering what you guys recommend.
Thank you

In general visibility in California will be in the 10-20 fsw range and that means there is not much to see snorkeling unless you are at a shallow site. And if it is shallow the waves have to be pretty flat. That said La Jolla Cove and the dive park in Avalon, Catalina are worth checking out. Beach diving is a good way to get out and dive for the price of a fill. Checkout Dale Sheckler's book: A Diver's Guide to Southern California's Best Beach Dives. Laguna diving is good, but parking can be a pain.
