Thats a shame. Having a line there is a good thing. I just wish they would have installed it over the deep end. Maybe if they started the line around 60' or so and had it run to the deep section nobody would pull it out.

I have never seen any permanent line in the hole (I havent dove it in a year). I have heard of a few that were installed but they were yanked out.
The cavers feel this is too tempting for untrained divers to follow into trouble.
I personally would like a line in the hole but I can see their point of view.:idk:
 
I was out there today. The line is still there but the barrel it's attached to is apparently leaking. We found it about 10' down and brought it back up to the surface. Managed to get it floating again, but who knows for how long.

That said, the manatees are starting to move in. There were three in the hole with us all day. A mom and her calf plus one more - along with a big school of jacks too. Much livelier this week than my previous trip.
