Looking for opinions on the Seaquest Balance

I must say that the switch to a back inflated BC was much easier than I thought it would be. Really the only noticeable difference (beyond the obvious) was the lack of 'feedback' when inflating the BC. With a jacket BC, I can feel it when I inflate the BC. With this BC (and I assume most back inflated BCs), you can't.
I leave tomorrow on a 4 day liveaboard, so I'll really get a chance to put it through its paces. Can't wait!

In fact I can confidently say that the Balance is the best BCD that you will replace with a BP/W!

Maybe. But I think this BCD looks so much cooler than most of the BP/W setups I've seen. And you know it is all about how it looks

Congrats on the Balance, I love mine as well.
The only 2 cons I had (Pockets and Tank band) I solved with DIY solutions.
I added a second and larger tank band with a rubber pad for 8" diameter tanks. I dive steel 120 tanks. It also helps with the long aluminium tanks.
I also added thigh pockets to my wetsuit. I only use the BCD pocket for my SMB. I don't like the zipper on that pocket so I don't use it much.

I can confirm this. I just replaced my Balance with a TransPlate.

Newbie here with 26 dives on my Balance. I'm happy with it but have two complaints: 1. the waist strap should be made to fit a narrower waist. I wear a Medium/Large but the waist is a slightly loose for me. 2. The pocket needs to be re-positioned - very difficult to reach when wearing the BC. In fact, I have difficulty zipping or unzipping the pocket with my right hand.
Otherwise, I say the Balance is probably the best you can get from a jacket BC without going to a BP/W setup.

Love my Balance. My wife has the Libra (women's version of the Balance) and she likes it a lot. THe one thing is the limited pocketspace. THe one pocket you have does fold out to hold more, but it is only on one side. Sort of wish a small pocket was on the left side, but it is NOT a deal breaker to me.

Ah yes, the Transplate is the best "almost a BP/W" that you will ever replace with a BP/W!
