My husband and I live in the bradenton area and we're looking for local places to dive. We've spent alot of time at spanish rocks and the novelty seems to be wearing off. We also do venice beach (usually at the pier) on a regular basis but we've heard that the jellies are posing problems. We've also seen the reef there, but aren't sure where the boneyard is. I've heard that the sugar barge is hit and miss and hardly worth the effort. So I'm wondering if anyone knows of any other shore dive spots in the area.

The only other shore dive I know of is the Red Rocks down off of Gasparilla Island by Boca Grande. Probably not that bad of a trip for you since you are already down in Bradenton. I went down there once to try to find it but had no luck. Moteman knows about it if you can get ahold of him.
