Looking for information on children's snorkeling

I am new to this group. I have been certified for about 6 years but haven't made the time to do much diving since being certified. My oldest daughter will be 6 in June and I would like to introduce her to snorkeling. She has been taking swim lessons for the past 2 years and loves the water. Can anyone make any suggestions on what brands of gear that they prefer for children? I live in Misawa, Japan (northern part) so if anyone is familiar with the area I would appreciate any suggestions on places to take my children for snorkeling.

Being in the US, I can't help you with information on dive shop locations, but for gear I might. You might want to take your daughter in to the dive shop of your choice & have them go through a fitting process with your daughter. With dive & snorkeling equipment, fit & comfort is the most important aspects of finding gear. With your daughter being so young & still lots of growing ahead of her & likely to outgrow a lot of the equipment in a few years, I certainly wouldn't say you need to get her the most expensive stuff out there, but it does need to fit & to be comfortable to her, or else if not, she may not enjoy the sport as much. Many dive shops also offer snorkeling lessons to beginners to get them off to a good start, if you are so interested in these for your daughter. Have fun & enjoy your up coming dive buddy!!!!!

Thank you for the information. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find a place locally that has children's gear.
