I've got to agree with NetDoc. I live in Sunny Central Florida also and I love it. I have dove in Key Largo with the warm water (in December) and beautiful fish. I have also explored some of the northern Florida Springs/cavern system. I am never more that about 4 hours from the farthest diving. 3 hours to Jupiter. 4.5 hours to Key Largo. 30 minutes from Mickey. There is a lot of diversity in Central Florida and you don't have to pay the premium for beachfront. Happy hunting.

Hi all. My wife and I have just recently become addicted to diving. We live in NE Oklahoma and there are, surprisingly, a few nice places to dive within a couple hours of home. This June, we will be celebrating our anniversary in Orlando. Obviously the 12 year old boy in me loves the Disney World idea and I know there is a dive at Epcot.
What we would love to know is if there is any quality boat diving within approximately 2 hours of Orlando. We are both advanced open water certified. We've read some horror stories about some Jacksonville boat captains on this site and don't want our rare opportunity for a vacation to be a disappointing memory. Any help would be extremely appreciated. Thanks everybody!

If you go towards the Tampa area there are a handful of places that do boat dive charters in that area if I recall correctly and supposedly they have a shipwreck called the Sheridan. Maybe someone in the area could correct me if I am wrong?
