dbo, That's true about Taino using the beach as a landing area. I forgot about that. Now that I am remembering that detail, you are probably right. They wouldn't be the best choice for Christine. It's too bad about your trip to Desecho falling through. I really enjoyed those dives. Never tried the shore dives though.

I have been to PR on 5 occasions with the military and have had some time to dive on each occasion. and i have lived in a tent in the middle east for a lot longer but its a great gig when you can get it!!
I took my wife(non-diver) to copamarine which is super but expensive. vis was ok lots of rain had thing stired up but the wall is close to shore any very dramatic!!! 40 feet deep to the coral then a straight drop to never never land!
on another occasion I dove Decheao island with oceans unlimited out of Rincon. the boat was in puorto real near Cabo Rajo (very south west tip) desacheao was two of the best dives ever (i have not been around the world but i lived in homestead FLA for several years a quick stop in Sicily on the way to the sand box and a week in the bahamas. Desacheao was by far the best. good luck
