Hello everyone,
I'll be in Brazil next July-August. I'll go to dive in Fernando de Noronha and I'd like to dive in Bonito's caves as well. I'm looking for a diving club or instructor over there but I didn't find too much info about it by now.
I've only read about a famous local cave diver, Gilberto Menezes.
I'm looking for a diving contact in Bonito. Is there anyone who can help with that?
Many thanks,
Michel

Hi! I'm Adriana from Brasil
Fernando de Noronha is the beste place to dive here in Brasil, but as is it is a preserved Island you will not find hotels, restaurants shops etc.You will stay in small homes. Bonito is river and cave there is more turistic so you can find easy all facilities. Just tipe in Google Bonito Brasil, and you will find everething. Welcome to Brasil.

Michel, try: divebonito.com.brin bonito and atlantisdivers.com.br in fernando de noronha. I dove with atlantis last month, must say the dives were incredible but extremely expensive if compared to the caribbean. bonito is even worse so get your wallet ready. btw aside from the dives, fernando de noronha for me was a terrible place to stay, bad food, expensive, everything is a rip off. good luck.

ps: i will be in bonito in june so i'll post my impressions of the river dives. caves are still closed i think

Hi, the dive club that operates in Bonito is Sub Mundo dive, maybe they can help you with contacts or even take you to the cave, although many are closed for diving right know.

The web site is www.submundodive.com.br

Thank you for all your recommandations.
I've reserved my dives at Atlantis Divers - Fernando de Noronha. I'll be there at the beginning of August.
Concerning Bonito, until 2010 at least, it's forbidden to dive their splendid caves. For sure they have more splendid places like the natural aquarium and more, but I couldn't make it this time.
I hope next time I'll be in Brasil, I could get to Bonito as well and dive all their wonderful places.
I'll keep you updated when I'll be back from Fernando.

Cheers,

Michel

That is true, unfortunately we have now most of Bonito caves closed, if I am not mistaken, only 3 caves are open for diving.

But I am sure you will have a wonderfull time in Noronha, it is fantastic for all kinds of dive, from the very basic to technical. If you have tech and wreck certification I recommend to visit Corveta Ipiranga wreck, it is a dive in an average depth of 55 mts, warm water (always like this in Noronha, no drysuit needed) and great visibility (also a characteristic of that region). You made a great choice choosing Atlantis also, they are very good and can give you support for all dives, including all sorts of gas blends if you request ahead.

Hi there,

I came back not long ago from Brazil. Eventually, I didn't go to Bonito, because of the closed caves. I went to Fernando de Noronha and I had a great time ther. It's a small paradise and dives are very high level. Even if there is not really macro life there and no corals. Volcanic rocks construction is really interesting. If you travel to Brazil, don't miss that place, it's a must.
You just need to make plane reservations early because there are no many flights and they are quite full. There are 3 dive operators on the island. I dived with Atlantis DIvers and they were really pro!
You can read the resume of my dive trip with pictures on Seayoo, here: Seayoo, the worldwide sea lovers community

Btw, there are many unique 3D animated dive sites on Seayoo, have a look and enjoy!
