Hi, I'm an Open Water certified diver looking for a buddy to dive in NorCal with me. I am located in the bay area and am available on the weekends and have my own set of gear. I am currently working towards my advanced. If anybody is interested that would be awesome :)

Hi! Where in the Bay are you?

A few of us (some SB members, friends IRL, and a mish mash of sources) dive Carmel/Monterey, Sonoma coast, or Lake Tahoe once in a while.

We can definitely let you know when we go.

I'm located about 30-45 mins east of San Francisco, I would love it if you let me go on your trips :)

Albert - as rungosas states, you may want to try the website Meetup.com, there are several Northern California scuba meetup groups that arrange group dives every now and then, and many are beginner friendly. Each group generally has a forum with a "Find a Dive Buddy" section. I generally get buddies/group dives through the Meetup, as with the phone app its easy to arrange things.

There are also several facebook scuba groups centered on Monterey area -- do a search in facebook for "Monterey scuba group". They arrange group dives as well.

Hope to see you on the group dives!

Thank you for the advice! :)

I follow my instructor's advice for finding dive buddies, "as long as they know where stuff is on your gear and can follow emergency procedures you're fine" :)

The dive flag goes on top of the giant gay unicorn, right?
