Hi,

I will be in the Ft Lauderdale area May 1st to Mat 5th. I'd love to get some dives in and am looking for a dive buddy. I am thinking of diving with either South Flordia Diving (Scuba Dive and Snorkel Sunny South Florida, with South Florida Diving Headquarters) or Sea Experience (Scuba Diving - Snorkeling - Fort Lauderdale | Sea Experience), but am open to dive with others. Most important to me would be to find someone who would like to go one some dives and either needs buddy, or wouldn't mind a third "tagging along".

I don't have much experience. PADI Open water certification - 10 total dives - 4 from a boat. I am looking to gain some more dive experience and enjoy some dives.

Let me know if you would be interested in going on a few dives.

Thank you,

Kevin

If you're willing to drive north a little bit, why not consider going out with Underwater Explorers in Boynton Beach. I'm generally a solo traveller so when diving in FL, I go with UE as Kevin has always been in the water acting as a guide, so no need for a dive buddy. Plus the boat is a roomy 6-pack so there's plenty of space for everyone. Have a great trip. :)

Thank you. That's really just a short drive. I will definately check out Underwater Explorers.

Thanks again!

Are you looking for a dive guide type buddy... Somebody that has local knowledge and experience, are you willing to pay somebody?

beach diving is always available in lauderdale by the sea ( commercial blvd and A1A )....do you have your own gear ?....deep blue divers and gold coast divers are the two dive shops in L.B.T.S.

+1 for gold coast. they can also help find someone to go out with you, not necessarily a DM -- depends on who wants to dive that day ;). and you never know what you'll see there on the reef. i can't forget that big manta from last year.

Scuba Jenny,

Somebody that has local knowledge and experience, would be great. I'd be willing to pay a bit. Not a large amount. Say around 1/2 the cost of a boat dive trip.

Iamrushman,

I don't have all of my own gear, so shore dives are probably out for me. I've got a BC, mask, fins, etc. But I don't have a regs or computer.

Iluvtheocean,

Thanks for the input. I may well check out Gold Coast.

easy enough to rent the gear for the shore dives. I did that for a while before i bought my gear. Gold Coast and Force-E are good about keeping the quality of the rental gear up & maintained. Can't speak for the other shops not having experience with them.

i live in lauderdale by the sea and beach dive most weekends...........p.m. me if your close and willing to dive.....perhaps we can make that happen.
