Looking for campground in Venice Fl area

My buddies and I are going to be in the Venice Fl area diving starting the day after Thanksgiving this year. We are looking for a good campground for tent camping. Can anyone point me in the right direction? We will be there shark tooth diving, more questions on that topic at a later time. Thanks

Highly recommend Oscar Scherer State Park. They have nicely separated, spacious camping areas on a creek. Close to Venice and convenient to Sarasota and Interstate 75.

Even nicer, but as much as 30 minutes away, is Myakka River State Park. Real "ol' Florida."

Recommend you reserve at either one soon, for Thanksgiving...that's firmly within season.

I second that motion. I'd stayed there a few years ago very nice park. Full camp sites state park can't beat the prices. Get your reservation in early they mite fill up. If I remember you can do everything on line even check sites available.
