Looking for Buddy at Monterey CA (Breakwater) on 05/14 or 05/15

Hi Folks

I am a German diver (quite rooke) and visiting in Cisco this weekend.

Browsing the internet I found a place I would like to dive in Monterey, called Breakwater, on this weekend (05/14 or 05/15).

unfortunately Monterey is in NORTHERN California, and you posted in the SOUTHERN california section of the board... I would dive with you if Monterey wasnt a good 6 or 7 hour drive away... haha

Welcome to SB. I too am a new diver looking to dive Monterey soon. I wish you luck in finding that buddy to dive breakwater this weekend. I am planning on diving there the following weekend or the next. Thanks for the link, it looks like it would be a good dive plan for a beginner to the area.

I've gone ahead and combined your thread in the SoCal forum and your thread in the NorCal forum here in the NorCal forum.

I know that if you look at a map of California that Monterey looks like it's in SoCal, but you'll find that people start calling anything north of San Luis Obispo NorCal.

I hope you have a great visit and find someone to dive with you in Monterey!

Welcome to Northern California Sascha. You should be able to find a buddy here on SB... if all else fails get a divemaster from one of the local shops (Manta, Aquarius, MBDC) and have them take you on a guided tour... Most of them are right there near the Breakwater. Good luck... unfortunately I won't be diving this weekend

Hey guys
thanks for that friedly welcome here on the board.
Unfortunately I did not dive that weekend as I did not find a buddy. But there are three good points:
- I found a very nice Scubaboard
- I went skydiving (what I never did before) it was awesome
- I although visited Monterey and know now that there will probably be many divers that I just can ask to dive with them. And as I will be in the states again within the next few weeks I'll post again (that time a little bit earlier). Perhaps someone likes to join then.
