My wife and I are staying for one week at Morritt's Grand Resort in March 2013. Although we want to stay for 2 weeks, there currently are not any additional weeks (time share) available. Air fares are reasonable at this time and we have not made reservations because we are holding out for an additional week, which is like gambling.

Anyways.......we decided we should try to stay at another hotel for 3-4 days, but as this is our 1st trip there, we do not know of other establishments where we could stay. Morritt's wants $400/night. Any suggestions for accomondations in that area? Doesn't have to be 5 star. Please let me know.

Did you look on VRBO? Google "Vacation Rental By Owner" and choose away...

So you're staying on the East End. Are you trying to stay away from SMB? Would you like to be on SMB? would you like to be Close to SMB? or is the East end still tooo close to SMB for your tastes.....?

I paid even less for a sideview condo. Nice spot. We could have been two couples there. Two separate bedrooms each with a full bath.
I did not take a dive package, as we don't vacation to dive, we vacation to vacate & relax.

I simply booked every 2nd day with Cayman Turtle Divers - small & personal.

Be sure to visit the Australian restaurant Tukka's (East end) - do the Wednesday Walkabout! Get to meet Ron, the owner & great guy.

You can look here:

Cayman Hotels: Turtle Nest Inn, Grand Cayman - Intimate & Affordable Beachfront Alternative.

An Oceanview condo is $286. night which includes a rental car.

* Mention Scuba Board * as EastEnder says
Say hi to Alain & Marlene from "Mark & Sylvie from Montreal".

Will earn you an extra smile.

They have a BBQ by the main pool - I was able to buy uncooked Chicken Jerk - half a chicken for 3$CI.

While cooking it at night, I got spooked by a hermit crab that had chosen a new shell. Big Guy.

I did not cook him...

3 nights at Turtle Nest Inn. Thanks for your help.

Steve

Yes, I did send Turtle Nest a note informing them that we received their name on Scuba Board. Told em I get lots of valuable info from this forum.

Thanks again,
Steve
