Any advice?
Is the bottom timer considered more reliable than a computer?
Does the bottom time usually come with a replaceable battery?

Thanks a lot!

Uwatec has a bottom timer, same as the OMS.

MechDiver:
The OMS is a rebranded Uwatec that they charge more for.
Thanks for the heads up..

I own both the Uwatec and the Sunnto D3. Each has a plus and a minus or two.

The Uwatec is great in all respects except: somewhat bulky but not unacceptable. Also, it does not have a resettable bottom timer (I don't like relying on memory for how many minutes I have been at a deco stop).

The D3 is also a good choice. It does everything, it is about the size of a larger wrist watch, you can download it to your PC and log and profile your dives with it, it has a resettable bottom timer, it is not a full computer (which I don't want) but more of a depth gauge, bottom timer and some enhancements. It also can be used with a backlight feature which the Uwatec does not have. The only downside is that it is about $100 more than the Uwatec in real price terms.

So I now carry both. A good balance between price, functionality and having a back-up in case one or the other fails.

Thanks a lot!
