This thread sux. Get over it. Pinch a buffalo nickel till it craps. You've spent as much time whinning as it would have taken to "face the rush hour traffic" each way. PLEASE! :pity:

I contacted the lady in the dispute department of my credit card company.
She had me put the situation in writing and fax it over to her.
From here they'll begin making an inquiry to find out if the final missing credit was ever made - if it was, then they'll find out why I haven't seen it yet, if not, then they'll begin the process of getting it for me.
I still haven't received the promised letter from the owner of the LDS detailing how he's going to get me in trouble for my 'extortion and threats'......can't wait to read that one.

If this thread 'sux' so much, why are you reading it?
Sorry about my 'whinning' tone, but I think you're wrong....driving through rush hour traffic would've been a MINIMUM of two hours. I haven't been 'whinning' nearly that long :out:

Every thread is fine for those that are interested...

... I don't like many threads but never said that one of them sucks ! I just don't read it...

Crrink I am interested about the developments and I believe that many others are...so keep us informed !

Crrink,
If you become a diver, you will be seeing the people you are disputing at sites, expos, & other shops. You will also meet a whole lot of people like the rest of us who don't just agree with disgruntled customers without considering the side of the other party.

You will not get much support for your possition when you are suiting up on a boat raging about how you should be getting a discount because you expected some service or amenity that is not proffered. Nobody likes to feel cheated, but we may not be your type. Perhaps there is a sport where you will find people who are more like-minded & you will be happier. I would not choose to trust my life to a buddy who fixates when he should problem-solve.

Greyface: No problem, I've shot from the hip without careful thought a few too many times my own self. I certainly understand. I appreciate you taking the time to write your second post.

art.chick: considering the side of the other party is all well and good, but if you'd taken the time to read the posts more carefully, you would see that the LDS doesn't have much of a leg to stand on - in case you're still in doubt, we can see where the owner's threat to sue me goes - I'm guessing nowhere FAST! ;)

Why would you so baselessly conclude that when I'm suiting up on a boat I'd be raging about how I'm owed a discount? That statment is proof positive that you haven't read the threads with any thought whatsoever. Reread them, and you'll see that your statement is not only incorrect, but very rude.

I wish every day that I knew more people who are 'more like-minded' I've been fortunate enough to meet about five - one is my wife and the other four are lifelong friends of the very best caliber - we're good people :D

Oh, and just for curiosity's sake, please explain to me how I fixated rather than problem solved...I can't wait to hear your explanation for that!

after reading various excerps, anyone who values their time would not waste several hours on 9 pages of nonsense. I just had to see what the issue was that had drawn that many readers in. I don't know all the particulars, & I wouldn't care to. By this time, I'd be on the other end of the boat chatting with someone who is mellow & fun to dive with. Sorry, but I just don;'t think you would be much fun to dive with based on your tone & expectations. And I wonder if you would really be having fun yourself.

Crink,

First let me wish you the best of luck in getting back your $129 or whatever. One can only admire the tenacity you’ve displayed. However, might I suggest that when you get your money back you use it for a good therapist as you obviously have some issues that are causing you to miss the whole point of diving which is to have fun. My advice is to “get over it” and go dive.

Mike

Art.chick:
How rude of you to say, 'after reading various excerps, anyone who values their time would not waste several hours on 9 pages of nonsense...' Quite a few of the board members have seen fit to take the time to read and post comments - you implying that they don't value their time isn't very nice....and you think I don't sound like I'd be very fun to dive with?
And why would you draw conclusions since you 'don't know all the particulars, & I wouldn't care to...'
I mean, that's just silly, you're saying that you don't know the details, but you want to pass judgment anyway....sorry, dear, but that's just plain wrong.

MikeS: So, you're telling me that if you paid someone for something and they reniged on the offer, then refused to give you your money back you'd just forget about it? Just move on? Live and learn? I highly doubt that.
And you feel that I am in need of therapy becuase I want my 280 bucks?
Uh...thanks for the tip, but perhaps YOU are the one in need of therapy....maybe you and Art.chick can get a group rate..? :D

Oh, and as far as the point of diving being fun, well, just like all the rest of you, that's what compelled me to take classes in the first place.
The diving I did in Hawaii was indeed quite fun....now, I've got to admit, I don't experience the almost mystical feeling that most divers talk about - I just think it's cool to go underwater and see all kinds of neat sea life.
So, if not sitting back on the boat with a dazed look in my face saying 'Maaaaan....did you see that eel....it was SO amazingly INCREDIBLE!!!!' makes me 'not fun' um... well then... sorry.
I'll definitely say "DANG! That was a BIG eel, pretty cool to watch him all tangled up in there." Or something like that.
Best I can do.
