Bought an Atomic T2x last November 2009 plus an extra T2x 2nd stage which I intend to use as an Octopus from a LDS. Likewise placed an order for a long hose (Atomic Brand) as i find the standard yellow octopus hose short for purposes of air sharing in an emergency situation.

When the Long Hose arrived last December 2009, it was found that the standard Atomic Long hose wouldn't fit the T2x 2nd stage. So my LDS informed me that they will have to place a special order with the manufacturer for a special long hose appropriate for the T2x.

Today is March 12, 2010, and since January, I've been continuously following up with my LDS, who would keep on telling me that my special order has not yet arrived.

At this point, I'm beginning to wonder whether or not Atomic Aquatics really fabricates a special long hose for its T2x 2nd stage. Visited the web site of Atomic but they don't have any e-mail address for which i can make a query.

Hope someone can enlighten me on the matter or point me on the right direction where I can address my query.

Huh??? If you took off a swivel hose and put a std hose on it would fit but you would want to put a jam nut on first. If it was another swivel hose it should have fit unless they sent you a universal swivel hose which is made for non atomic regs and would not have fit.

Unless you are overly concerned about "failure points" why not just get a coupler that allows you to join two l/p hoses together to make one long(er)one. You could even throw a Miflex into the mix and have a very comfortable, custom length hose. See item HOAD6 http://www.divegearexpress.com/regulators/adapters.shtml#599

This way, you could use the hose your regulator came with, but add the length of another hose of your choosing.

Atomic does manufacture custom hoses, they are somewhat expensive, but it doesn't sound like $ is your problem. You might contact Darcyatomic via 'private message' here on Scubaboard, the Atomic rep on this forum.

Darcy doesn't check in on Scuba Board very often, so I suggest you call her instead.

I'm sure she'll help you out.

In fact, if you could bug her about the release date of their Cobalt Computer for me I'd really appreciate it. :D
