Long breathing hoses on Discovery MK6

When I dive on my mk6 the breathing hoses tend to be very close to face and head which makes it feel claustrophobic. Will the longer breathing hoses improve this. I have the standard one's fitted at the moment. Or is there another way to cure this. I have it mounted on a Poseidon Besa 50. Any thoughts appreciated.
