For the most part I don't even log dives unless I'm diving at a place I've never been.

I download my computer(s) from time to time but never put any details in the log.

I also have one computer for basic diving (Galileo), one for OC tech (Shearwater) and one for the Rebreather (another Shearwater) so I have 3 different downloads/logs. In reality, I could care less anymore. Who cares if I log dives or not.

You don't need to have anyone sign it. In fact, you don't actually have to keep one.
However, as mentioned, it's a great way to track anything you've changed with gear or some kind of dive style.

It's also a good way to recall where you dove and when. :D

It's a good tracking tool, and will be only as good as you allow it.

Hi all, I'm a relatively new diver with only 62 logged dives.
I've been diving with Operators or LDSs, I mean, someone that provides gear, tanks and facilities just by the diving place, even a dive boat.
Now I will dive a quarry with my buddy. We both have full gear except tanks. We will rent tanks for the whole diving day in a shop near downtown. The place has no Operator nor LDS.
The question is who has to sign the logbooks ?
I will sign my buddy´s logbook and he will sign mine, but is this a valid dive if it has to count for minimum logged dives for something ?
