Our pool liner got a nasty rip in it during our latest storm that blew through No problem, grab a tank, my BC and the vinyl repair kit and down I go. 45 minutes later I surface and my kids asked me if I was going to log that as a dive. Never thought about logging something like that. Has anyone ever logged a dive such as this. I was at 9ft for almost an hour???? What do ya'll think.

But then I may not be up to speed with the latest certifications, is there a pool diver speciality these days? :D

Is your pool indoors? That might count as an overhead dive!

Guess it depends if you want to log "open water" dives only. Is your pool connected to a larger body of water by any chance? :)

My own personal rule is at least 15 feet plus 15 minutes = a logged dive. We came up with this at Dutch Springs one particularly chilly March evening while doing checkout dives with students. Brrrrr!

Diversaurus, ssssh! Padi will start charging him if you say that too loud! :D

if you do, I'll tell every one.

Technically yes. Follow me on this. I had the water hose running in the pool at the time of the dive. The water hose is connected to the city water system, which is comes from the water tower. The water tower receives it water from a local pumping station which receives its water from Big Creek Lake. So since I am connected to a larger body of water would you consider it a dive?

Why do you log your dives??
Answer that honestly, and then decide.
