Hey guys...any of you deal with Traffic Law? Need a little advice regarding a ticket I recieved yesterday. Would appreciate the help...

Let us knew when you are selling off you car and all other accessories. I have dibs on the air freshener. LOL, sorry to hear about the trouble, good luck.

Contest it, go to the hearing for two reasons:

1.) It will delay the time to when it hits your license
2.) You have a 1 in a million chance of getting out of it. Tell them you made a mistake, admit it fully, and just came to ask for the courts consideration.

Contesting the speeding ticket can also reduce the fine. You need to make up a good story. Ive heard everything from being tailgated, diarrea, late for work, appoinment etc and in all cases the fine was reduced.

Fight the ticket. Depending on where you got the ticket you will prolly get out of it. Ussually the cop that gave you the ticket will not show up on the court date and then they have no other choice but to take your word on what happened and then theres some courts that see that the cop didnt show up and throw out the ticket all together.

I was avoiding an accident and the cop cited me for speeding and passing on the right...I'm fighting it with a lawyer if I had to...because we are taught to do so in a safety class.

Sorry, but that doesn't work in MA. The only thing that needs to show up is *a* cop along with a written version of what happened by the citing officer. They tend to schedule these things such that the odds of a cop not showing up are next to nil.

In quebec no cops have to show... how do you like those odds?

Speeding to avoid an accident???? Suck it up Leo, pay the fine, you messed up.
