A longtime local dive instructor from Ft. Walton Beach passed away yesterday afternoon after suffering a heart attack and a stroke during bypass surgery. Jim Sturgeon will truly be missed and left quite a long list of students he certified behind. Jim was an independent PADI instructor that ran SCUBA Experience on hwy 98 years ago in Ft. Walton Beach, he also taught for Chuck's Dive World ( Now Discovery Dive World ) in Valpraiso. Jim had many friends in the community and loved sharing dive stories with anyone and loved spending time at Fudpuckers. We at Beach City SCUBA will miss him as he was our instructor up through divemaster and gave us a passion for the sport.

My condolences.

Sad he left us, nice to see he left behind a regecy to carry on. Hopefully he left a bit of himself with each of his students.
