OK.....NOW IM GETTING A LITTLE BENT......and I dont mean the nitrogen buildup kind.....!!!!

Can anyone give me any advice on finding the best airfare to get to Little Cayman....??

I hear its the best diving in the caymans......but all the airfare is $1000 or more......

Im leaving from either Cleveland or Pittsburgh....

Anyone know if there is a cheaper day to travel on in order to cut that cost down a bit???

Appreciate any advice......I know you will all come through with all your devine knowledge and expierences....

Happy Diving!!

Find your cheapest fare to MIA, then book Cayman Airways to Little via GCM. Cayman Airways is much more civilized and far superior to any of the US carriers.

Be very careful doing that.

If you book a ticket Cleveland to Miami, and then book another ticket Miami to Little Cayman, if any first leg is late and you miss the connection, the airline has no responsibility to you. You are out of luck.

Surely you can get a better fare than $1,000. When are you traveling? Christmas or some other holiday?

Finally, fly through Tampa, not Miami, it is much nicer and easier.

Still looking at crazy rates....

I am looking at traveling June 7th-14th......

Still cant find anything really decent....I know that oil prices are jacking things up....

Not to mention that there is not that many flights than can get me in early enough to catch the few flights that go from Grand Cayman...to Little Cayman.....

thanks for the help

We flew Spirit Air from LAX to Fort Lauderdale and then to GC for $278 in Dec. The airfare to LC was about $128 pp. Spirit only flies certain days to GC and limited cities and it is NOT LUXURY, but it got us there.

You may not be able to get to LC in one day, depending on the flights. The Otter has limited seating and fills up quick!
As JDCPA said, try going thru Tampa, there are directs on Cayman Airways to GC, then the Otter to LC.

husband and i are flying from houston in july.........going to miami first, then to grand cayman, then on to little cayman. but i made sure we had at least a couple hour layover in miami, and then we have like almost 3hrs layover at grand cayman. but we will make it to little cayman in one day. and that's running us $1456 for the two of us for the airfare.

We're flying from San Francisco to Grand Cayman over the May holiday for 673/pp...including tax and fees....on USAirways. We looked at hoping over to either Cayman Brac or Little Cayman on Cayman Airlines and it was less then $200 round trip. We don't have the time to add this on so I can't give you particulars there. But you might look at US Airways if they service your area and book to Grand Cayman...and then see what Cayman Airlines can do for the connection separately. I don't believe US Airways and Cayman Airlines are partners so you won't see the complete trip on a single carrier. This has pros and cons....sometimes you get a better price booking the legs independently. For example, say you are flying AA or UAL but they only have 1 flight available from the US to the Caymans, then you are probably going to pay a premium for that. But you could possibly get a cheaper flight from the States using one of these carries and flying to GCM which is a larger airport then the other islands...and then use Cayman Airlines to get to Little Cayman. The cons are obviously that you don't have continuity of your itinerary and you have to recheck bags.

i personally am not a fan of US AIRWAYS. they cancel flights all the time!!!!! last summer they left us stranded in south carolina for a night. you just never know what's gonna happen with them i promise you!!!! don't do it!!!!! don't say you weren't warned:)
