I have a scout and photon torpedo. I like the PT better than the scout. It's brighter, has a bigger hotspot, turns on smoother, no pressure activations, and has double o-rings. Atleast in my testing side by side, but I'm no expert.

Whatever I get.... I don't want to really compare it to the Scout. IMO the Scout puts out very dismal light compared to many of the new LED flavors out.

Thanks Corigan...

Have you had any occasion to use it just to check out a dark hole in daylight? How did it do if ya did?

Green Force Diamond Single LED
Nothing beats this baby for backup

2 hours worth of light @ full power, 7 hours you can still read your gauges with it.

It works pretty well during the day, but like stated on the scout, it doesn't put out a great deal of light. They are perfect for getting you out the back of a cave when your primary light fails, but I'm not sure I would use them specifically for daylight use for peaking up under crevices. Like stated there are better lights for that (atleast IMHO). I've read really good things about the green force lights but have yet to see one in person, nor try one out for myself.

I have 2 of the Photon Torpedoes. They work great and they carry nicely out of the way 'til needed.

I used to have 2 of the CE scout lookalikes. I replaced them when one kept flooding.
