The Britannic is more like an expedition based on the permits and forms you need in order to dive it, its in greek waters so access is quite restricted by local regulations and the owners, only a handful of people have dived it, its at about 115m i think

Well How was it???? Is it worth it?

It was good, an interesting dive, but only once at the monument the dive shop kept making us dive the hammerhead sites (no hammerheads). The main proplem was the dive staff ignored our experience and treated us all like kids, They had lost some divers previously and went over the top on protecting us.

Your in okinawa already so not to far to go, i would definetly go while im there, I went with Fathoms.

It's good to revist this list from time to time and I wish something had changed or been ticked off the list .. but alas nothing has changed... the only news is that I'm now doing my Adv Nitrox and Deco Procedures courses.. so some of the location will be more within my reach.

Does anyone know if Bikini Atoll will still be divable in 2005? Is is decaying much?

HI,
I remember a while ago seeing a list of the top 10 dives in the world you should do before you die. They included dives like the Blue Hole, TOwn Pier, Stingray city, etc.

Anyone know where that list is?

Darryl

My list is never the same twice but the persistent ones are:

Truk Lagoon
Scapa Flow
Red Sea (soon)
Great Barrier Reef
Iceland
A 100 metre dive (doesn't matter where - could be combined with one of the above)
Cenotes
Maldives

Belushi,so good to see you.
My list would include a dive to a virgin deep wreck with our own AUE-Mike.
2.Manatee dives anywhere.
3.Britannic
4.Indo-Pacific..not specific.
5.With our own Uncle Pug for an octopus dive.
6. To add 9" to George's line at his home court having come from somewhere else so as not to violate any law.
7.A 14# Florida lobster
8.A 30#+Red Snapper
9.A dive in my birthday suit where appropriate.
10.A dive off my own vessel in the caribe mon, complete with a coupla friends.

Heck .... at this point in my diving "career", I am just shooting for the Spiegle Grove!! LOL

But I am getting a lot of places to look at/forward to in the future from y'alls lists. I hope you don't mind me eavesdropping!!!

My list isn't a top 10, after 30 years of diving it's down to about 5.

Cayman Islands

For me, my top ten has changed since I started diving. Now I look forward to:

1. PNG
2. Fiji
3. Gallapagos
4. Palau
5. Yap
6. Indonesia
7. Maldives
8. Cocos
9. Ras-muhamed?
10.Mozambique or Madagascar

At first it was wrecks, and I've been to Tobemory, Thunder Preserve, the Staits of Mac.
Then it was a bit of caves, Ginnie Springs, Bonne-Terre
Mostly it has always been warm, Cozumel, all Caymans, Bonaire, T&C, Bahamas, Aruba, USVI, the Keys.
At times it's been exotic, Egypt red sea, Sodwanna indian ocean, Australia coral sea, Hawaii pacific.
I prefer the exotic, but can afford mostly the warm Carribean.

Dive dreams are wet dreams
