I do remember a barracuda following the divemaster waiting to get a piece.
Great example for a hypothetical scenario. Let's say another diver comes by and your barracuda thinks he's got a hand-out, but oh no, there's a grouper or a big moray eel swimming up from the other side. The barracuda sees it as a competitor and gets antsy. Our diver picked the wrong day to wear a silvery colored flexible watch band & sticks out an arm, holding out his SPG for a good look...
This came to mind because in Bonaire, Dec. 2012, a barracuda that a buddy & I passed came up behind me. It didn't bother me for food, but my buddy pointed it out & I looked back, realized it was heading my way & had that moment of 'Ah, boy. And what do YOU want?' It swam on, off to the side, no problems. I even got a head photo.
