What's a good line thickness for an smb?

I've currently got a trident reel and a 'cheaper' safety sausage that I've been using on ocean dives. But recently I've purchased one of the DAN safety sausage and it has a pocket were I think a spool will fit nicely.

I'm curious what people might think as for line thickness and finger reel size?

I'm thinking about 150' of line might be usefull. Most of the wrecks off the NC coast are in the 100' area, the extra line is just that extra.

Thanks for the advices.

Mark

If it's going to be used for shooting the SMB, #24 is fine. If you plan to use the spool also as a navigational aid on the NC wrecks, go with #36.
When new, most spools come with #24.

Stop on by www.ncdivers.com and say 'hey' sometime.

Thanks Jason,

I was thinking 24 would be fine just wanted to check and see what people thought.

Yeah I'm a member on NCDivers.....great board.
