Farce Fins are lighter than splits but will probably drive you nuts. However, the cheaper and lighter option which tested superior to 99% of all other fins on the planet is that slipper fin, Caribe X. I haven't used the Viper but it might be worth doing the due dilligence like "nobounderies" said.

Once we decided we wanted the Viper/Caribe X, the Viper won our money because it was open heel. The open heel Viper doesn't quite transfer energy as well as the full foot Caribe, but my wife and I both have difficult feet to fit. My foot is extra wide, hers extra narrow. The open heel solved the fit problem for both of us, plus we can also use the Vipers in cold water.
