    If both group and individual term are junk, what's a better option and why, specifically from the viewpoint of someone doing tech diving?

    He's not saying individual term is junk. He's saying "annual renewable term" is junk.

    Individual term (20, 30 years) is the ideal type of life insurance for most situations.
