Hello all,
I was hoping that my first post on this site would be a positive one, but I'm sorry that I must be the bearer of some bad news.
I have just learned that one of my favorite wrecks, the Northwestern (previously thought to be the Perseverance ) off the shores of Rogers City, MI (outside the Thunder Bay Sanctuary boundaries) was recently raped of all it's artifacts except a few broken ones. This is a sad day because I will never see the whiskey jugs, plates, pocket watch, etc....again or take my kids down to enjoy. Now we can only view the pictures of what used to be. Not only is it illegal in the Great Lakes, it is just plain morally wrong and selfish to bring up these artifacts.
Lets stick together to keep Great Lakes Diving pure and enjoyable for future generations of divers.
I doubt this person is a scubaboard member, but if you are and read this, know that we are looking for you and if you are found,......I need not say more.
Take Care and Safe Diving
Rob
