Here is the location on Map Quest. <<< Click Here

Here are the easiest directions. There are a bunch of short cuts, but this will probably get you there more quickly if you are unfamiliar with the area.

Directions from Calabasas:
South on the 101
South on the 405
South on the 110
Continue with directions for "both of you".

Directions from Pasadena:
I'm not sure what part of Pasadena you are in, but you want to make your way to the 110 freeway. This freeway starts on S. Arroyo Parkway in South Pasadena. If you drive South on Arroyo, it automatically turns into the freeway. There is also an entrance from Orange Grove Ave.

Take the 110 just past the 405
Continue with the directions for "both of you".

Both of you:
Get off at Torrance Blvd. exit and go right on Torrance Blvd.
Torrance Blvd will actually run right into the Redondo Beach Pier.
The last street you pass will be Catalina Ave.
STAY to the RIGHT and don't go into the parking lot for the Pier.

You'll cross over the entrance to the Pier on a circular drive and just as you start to head back in the other direction you'll see what looks like a driveway, but it is actually a one way street called N. Harbor Drive that goes south along the beach. At the end of this little access road you'll see a large parking lot on the left. The lot is at the corner of N. Harbor Drive and Esplanade. That's where you will find us.

BRING LOTS OF QUARTERS FOR THE METERS.

The parking meters give you 15 min. per quarter, so figure on $1 per hour and they are in operation 24 hours per day, seven days per week.

If you park under the pier in the underground structure you don't need to use quarters and it it goes to a maximum of $7.50. The entrance is on Torrance and you run right into it if you just keep driving on Torrance toward the water. It's about a 1/4 mile walk from the underground structure to Veteran's Park, but not as bad as the walk from the parking structure to the beach at Montage/Treasure Island in Laguna.

super opus:
where u think the best place is to park??
The metered parking lot for Veteran's Park that is at the corner of N. Harbor Drive and Esplanade is the best place to park. It's right next to the park.

Just a FYI, the meters at Veterans Park also take nickels and dimes. i.e. put 10 dimes in the meter will net you 1 hour on the meter as well as four quarters. One thing to remember is to push the button on the meter that points to the parking spot you are located in BEFORE putting any money in the meter. All the meters are electronic and serve two spots. Don't make the mistake of paying for the spot next to yours! For the thrifty, there are spots just outside the parking lot on the Esplanade that are not metered, the next street east, Catalina is only metered north of Pearl, and the next one east, Broadway, (where I live!) is totally unmetered. Might want to drop stuff with the group and repark in a unmetered space.
