Hello everyone.

I am a newer diver looking for dive buddies in indy. I am willing to travel a few hours to dive. If interested let me know. Thanks
Chris

I know Blue Springs is probably more convenient for you, but how far of a drive is Haigh Quarry? You also have France State Park too.

My usual haunt is Mermet, but I'll be at blue Springs sometime over Labor day weekend, probably Sunday.

Haigh Quarry is about 2 or more hours away. I am on the west side of indy so getting that way isn't too bad. I checked out the site and it looks like a good place to dive. When do you usually dive? On the weekends?

Blue springs is a good place tto dive. I did my training dives there and enjoyed it. Labor day weekend is kinda far off but let me know if you need a dive buddy that weekend.

I assume that I will need a buddy. I'm going solo, and have never dove there before.

Hey Chris,

I live in Terre Haute, not too far. If you are planning on going anyplace, or the reverse, keep in touch. Wish I would have seen this post for last weekend. Went to Blue Springs and ended up being the odd diver, still dove.

My LDS is planning on having a class at BS Labor day weekend. Even if they don't I wouldn't mind hooking up with someone and going for a dive.

Were is Haigh Quarry? (general area)

Here is the web site: http://www.haighquarry.com/

Haigh Quarry is located in Kankakee, IL. There is no camping on-site, but is nearby.

Weekends get a little crowded, but it's a nice place to go diving. Usually we bring charcoal and hamburgers for grilling and make three or four dives. Some people stay for night dives.

I tend to dive on weekends, but there is always someone diving. If you show up solo, then ask Tina to introduce you to other divers. There aren't always divers on the weekdays, but you can definitely find people to dive with on the weekends.

Hey,
Hiagh Quarry is In ILL. It is about 2 1/2 hours from indy. Midwest scuba has a trip planned there on Sunday the 11th of July. I think I am going to go then. Is there anyplace near Terre Haute to dive?

Unfortunatly we lost our local dive park last year. It was an ongoing fued and then a night dive student freaked and went to the bottom. She said she didn't feel well when they got her to the surface so they took her to the hospital. The park owners freaked and locked the gates. BS is the nearest thing we have and that is two hours away.

We do have a couple of holes that we jump in but other than a passage where the mine trucks went through, nothing. Ok there are fish.
