Hi to everyone that reads this.
Let me introduce myself to you. My name is Andy but my Knickname is Tao (it's Thai for turtle) I'm in my mid 40s (single and not bad looking, for all the ladies out there:eyebrow:) I'm Scottish and proud of that. I don't however appreciate Scottish weather and therefore I've never been diving here. The thought of diving cold hasn't appealed to me, although I havn't ruled it out completely. I have only 40 dives logged so far but I'm working on that. I am a PADI advanced open water diver. Although I can't clame to be hugely experienced with 1000 logged, I think of myself as being competent and comfortable in the water. Many very experienced buddies have asked to dive with me, so I think I must be ok.
I much prefer diving in Tropical waters and love diving in Thailand, not just for the quality of the diving but the social scene too. I was there in September on Koh Tao and although the water wasnt as clear as it has been previously, I saw some great stuff. Bull sharks, Whale sharks, green turtles and more. I have dived in Vietnam too but that was many years ago and my memory of it is that it was chaotic and almost dangerous.
I am just back from a week diving in the Red Sea at Sharm el Sheikh. I enjoyed the diving but I didn't really like Sharm too much. it's a bit of a Tourist gheto. I much prefer Thailand and will be going back there this summer. As from this year, I am trying to get at least 2 dive vacations in each year. That is a personal goal I've set. That is pretty much me, a guy who loves traveling and diving. I hope I may meet up with some of you some day.
Happy diving

welcome aboard
