Gee I thought all of this was on topic. i am not trying to be sarcastic here. What are you referring to that is off topic. What exactly was the topic if not this?

LJ
Things have turned back into the old LP bashing and kissing arguments. LP is a place of business like all others but It seems to polarize folks when discussed. The arguments pro and con have all been aired on the board and are pretty stale reading. The topic of this thread is how to get around a huge problem with LP that truly exists. I've already learned a lot but I'm always open to more input. I also wanted to share what has and has not worked for me. This, I hope, is a new approach to this subject and I hope we stay the course :thumb:.

SeaYoda - thread hijacking, when done artfully is interesting to see, this one lacked a bit of skill...
I've jacked a few threads in my time too :D.

Sea Yoda -
What is your point then? You asked for input, got it, now you are upset? Just don't get it.

Caveat Emptor

No one highjacked your thread!

I like to watch the polarisation of LP opinions. Me on the otherhand I realise that some people would rather just get the out right lower price and worry about it later if need be. LP services that market, if you don't want to worry about it later move on, if you don't want to pay more up front stick with LP. I personally fell in love with scubatoys customer service as did Humu it seems, ST converting the world one LP customer at a time.

My 2 cents, Gordo

I'm in the process of returning a defective item to LP and thought I'd share some things that may help anyone that may need to return something there."

I don't see anything anywhere in the above or his subsequent posts about "grey market" or "warranty"

The input that is the "hijack" is the argument whether to buy from LP or not, are they legal, is it SeaYoda's fault, is it the post office's fault ..... all which are old tired arguments. No beef about should LP exist or should they be the role model for LDSs here. Those arguments go off regularly around here and are not the topic of this thread. They always end in a harsh way and nobody convinces anybody else.

The on topic information is simple - since I can't get a good response from LP's customer service (like some have stated here and many have stated in the past) how do I and others make the system work. I think the approach here is so different, people are missing the point(s).

Point #1 LP has problems. We can't deny the truth so how about dealing with it?
Point #2 You could experience problems, it happened to me after 3 years.
Point #3 What can be done about it for me and you?

Upset is not what I am, I am trying to get the thread back on track and not have it end up where so many have gone. This has the potential for constructive criticism instead of "beat up LP" or "beat up those on the other side" arguments.

You start up the same ole thread and expect different results?

Ain't gonna happen.

Same old mind sets not the same old thread :D. Amazing how it seems to default to the old stuff instead of the new though. I did get more info out of this thread than others in the past, that's new.

I think it's time SeaYoda's thread was returned to the subject at hand, and that's his actions and efforts to effect the return of a purchased product to a vendor.

Should anyone need to discuss his or her opinion of the business ethics of a particular vendor, he or she is welcome to do so in a more appropriate thread.

SeaYoda, back to your regularly scheduled programming. . .
