I'm not sure if my reg was leaking on inspiration on my last dive or not. What can go wrong with a reg that would cause a very small leak on inspiration? It was serviced about two months ago. I can imagine if it was leaking lightly it would probably be something that would get worse over time.

Any ideas?

Tom

Does "inspiration" mean when you inhale? And where is the leak?

Guess I should have done a better job watching you and your equpiment at PK rather than being fascinated by the acrobatic bottle fish.

Tom,
If you're getting water on inhale, check the following:

Damaged or unseated exhaust valve
Leaking main diaphragm, (torn or it's not seated correctly)
Torn or loose mouthpiece
Cracked reg housing

With the reg off a tank and the dust cap in place, suck in on the reg. You shouldn't get any air. If there's a leak you may be able to hear it and locate it. Hope this helps.

Michael,

Yes inspiration is inhale.

Neil- Thanks did that and go nothing. Maybe I don't have a leak or it was something that wasn't quite seated and it seated itself.

I would inhale and get a tiny bit of water in my mouth. It was enough to swallow a little. I actually had to think about it to see if it was the reg or just a hyperactive salivary gland.
