Lead weight in tank boot?

Is there any reason not to put lead weight in tank boots, other than that its not easily ditchable?

I see no reason why you could not do this as long as you are putting in just enough weight to counter balance the weight difference at the top of the tanks. What type of tanks and boots are you using? Do you intend to attach the weights to the outside of the boots or place it between the tank and boot?
