Figured I'd share these with a larger group. I've been making them for people going into GUE Fundies, who don't have a canister light, or want ditchable weight behind their canisters. So far I love using mine when I'm single tank diving and don't want to lug the can. The current version I'm making is 2.5# Although the first version was 2# Still have the mold for both. CA Based but could ship if people wanted them. Always tweaking things too so input is appreciated! Also attached a picture of some of the uncut larger V weights I'm working on.

I'll pass this on to my students........great stuff.

Just out of curiosity, ...how is that ditchable? Seems like it would be pretty hard to ditch in an emergency.

*and I do understand that ditchable weight should not be a huge issue when properly weighted.

They aren't meant to be ditchable.
They are for routing a long hose for those that are not using a canister light.

These are an alternative to the plastic, delrin or pvc tube versions out there.

You can always just tuck the long hose, but it's nice to have something like this as opposed to tucking the hose in your belt.

I never understood how adding superfluous gear just to route a hose was "doing it right." I've never had an issue with tucking myself. I will say you did a great job with those molds though and if you need the weight at least it serves that purpose itself and then doubles as a place to route the hose rather than a random piece of pvc pipe. I personally think the pvc pipe option is "doing it wrong."

I tuck mine just fine too. Never had an issue with tucking and it holds my hose exactly where I like it.
