I'm a Fish!
I want to put out lead boxes (the little cardboard boxes that people sign up to win prizes at), like win a free something or another.

I already know what to do as far as the prize.

I am going to offer a free scuba diving certification as the grand prize...
BUT, everyone who enters will win and be invited to a free discover scuba diving class

I need to set these up in different businesses, but what I don't know is WHAT to offer the business owner in return for letting us put a box in their store???

I think it would get a little steep if we offered free certifications, because let's face it, 20 business means doing 20 free certs... Any ideas???

Thanks

A token gift would be nice. National Pens makes some very nice ball point pens as well as their cheaper ones, and other ideas.

Will you be selling those leads to other companies when you are done with them?

See, this is the part that they never tell you when you sign up to "win a free X." Most of the time, your name and info gets sold and recycled into lead lists for telemarketers, spammers (if your email address is included) and other folks I just love so much. I've always thought that was wrong...

No I will never sell the names, I will destroy them, actually I will probably keep a spreadsheet with the names on them, so we can follow up on anyone that is interested, but doesn't have the time right now... But, the leads are just for the dive shop, we are just trying to make divers, nothing else, hopefully they buy equipment from the shop someday.

There's a dive shop that shall remain unnamed that has my name, I get email every week telling me the boss is out of town and they're having a sale

Ah, ok lead boxes as in "leed". I was trying to figure out why you would need lead (led) boxes unless you were messing around with kryptonite or plutonium.

How about "bring a buddy for free?" Free instruction class/pool for second student. They still need to buy their books and pay for open water. Ya gotta make some money.

For the businesses maybe certify the owner or member of staff free for each six new students generated.

Also, instead of going cheap, maybe also try going high end. I had so many referrals this past quarter that I decided to try to casually promote open water on our higher end trips. We now have six brand new students doing their checkout with us in Bonaire next month. So I'm trying to put together an Open Water only trip to Belize next Fall. We'll see how it goes (shrug)

How about a discount on the "team building for your employees" DSD program? You put a box in their store, and then get that business to sign up their own employees and give them a price break. Six DSDs for the price of 5.
